Feb 07, 2014 Rating Long Haired Dachshund Grooming by: Mark It's not necessary to cut a long haired dachshunds coat, but it is advisable to trim the hair around their foot pads, ears and bottom area as required. In some cases if your dachshund keeps getting belly hair picking up debris and dirt this also could be trimmed slightly.
