If your looking at neutering your dachshund best to be done around 6 months, before boys start getting the urge to roam and for females before they come into their first season, as the more seasons they have the higher the risks of developing mammary tumors. Jul 07, 2013 Rating Neutered long haired dachshund by: Anonymous Our little Monty was neutered at 6 months. Now 8 months old. Only change is that he is even more loving now than before. Still the same active, happy go lucky calm puppy that he was before.
