Hi Everyone, I'm Doogie the Doxie!!!!

Doogie is our brand new 10 week old doxie pup we rescued two weeks ago from a "not very nice situation" here in the middle of winter in cold, cold Wisconsin! He is full of energy, but a VERY good boy. Our other 2 doxies will be 12 this year, so having a young pup around is something new, but very exciting and joyful! Doogie loves to cuddle, sleep curled up on your neck and his favorite thing is pestering his older brothers and his chew toys!

Merry Christmas

Suzie is 15 and I rescued her when she was 6. She loves to rub her head on my leg and she loves to run around to the front yard when you least expect it. Her favorite thing is to chase chipmunks.
Charley is 6 and I rescued her when she was 3. She loves to chase squirrels and can climb a tree to go after them. She also sits up on her haunches to beg for food.

Mini Cooper "Cooper"

Cooper came home with me July 8, 2012, at only 4 months old. He is a Miniature Smooth dachshund, CKC registered and is considered red in color. He is an absolutely gorgeous little guy.

He is definitely my little fur baby. He has bonded with me since the moment I picked him up from the breeder. I call him my little duckling, he follows me all through the house, and when I go upstairs waits at the bottom whimpering for me and dancing.

Cooper is very playful and spends a lot of time wrestling with his big brother Foose the Chihuahua, who adopted him as his little brother from the moment he got home. He loves to sing with his cousins Ava and Dave the basset hounds :)

Carrots are Cooper's favorite treats, he goes crazy for them, he definitely has the hound personality...always thinking about his tummy.

Cooper means the absolute world to me, knows my secrets, licks away my tears when I have a bad day and never fails to make me smile. He is my pride and joy and I am looking forward to the years we get to share with each other. I love you Cooper.

I volunteer at an animal rescue and was planning on fostering this sweet girl. She was abandoned in a home all by herself and was terrified of everyone. I held her for over 2 hours straight and ever since she will not leave my side. If I go into a room and shut the door she will cry (very loudly) until I come out. She obviously has severe separation anxiety, so therefore I kept her.

I named her Opossum because she will play hard with my other dogs but if they turn towards her she will fall on her back and freeze. As soon as they walk away she jumps up and takes off again. This game she plays with them really confuses them and it is sooo funny.

Bienchen's name is a German word which means Bee. This name suits her personality well.

She is always on the go but she also enriches our lives with the honey she shares through her loving personality.

She was born in South Africa in a town near the Botswana border. She now lives in the Mpumalanga province. She shares her home with her two closest friends, Daffney and Freckles, both miniature dapple Dachshunds.

Bienchen's favorite day of the week is Saturday. To start the day, she may sleep in. Then the Isuzu 4x4 is starting up and the puppies are going to the farm. After a short trail run next to Mom, it is time to go for a swim!

Back home it is bath time and the treat of the week--a very special meal for a very special puppy!

This is Fido

This is Fido he's a dapple dachshund. He was so tiny when we got him. He was only 5 weeks old he fit into our shirt pocket. We thought he would stay small like the miniature. He ended up being a full size Dachshund. He has grown out of his dapples. Only on the top of his head you see the dapples it looks like a flying bird. He will now be 8 yrs old in March 2015.

He loves to cuddle in the winter but in the summer he loves to lay out in the sun. He loves to play with his Red Kong ball. He's a big eater he'll eat anything and everything.

He's grown so big he was 26 pound last year he had to lose weight he is now 21 pounds. I love him so much he's my big baby.


This is Daisy she's a miniature tan wirehair dachshund. She was given to us about 2 or 3 years ago by my husbands cousin, she was his girlfriends dog. When she passed away, Daisy had no place to go. So she went from home to home nobody wanted her because she would pooh and pee all over the house. Finally we took her in. Fido Loved her.

Daisy has a tattoo in her ear we thought we could get more info on her, where and when she was born, but we could never find any info on her. One day we saw some blood on the floor we thought one of the dogs hurt his paws somewhere and they where bleeding. We later found out it was Daisy she had her periods she was in heat.

My husbands cousin told us she was spayed when he gave her to us. So later on we got her spayed. So we have no idea how old she is or nothing. If we could find a way to track her tattoo we would be very happy.

LuLu

My LuLu has the sweetest personality. She loves to go everywhere with me. She sits in her car seat and checks out the cars next to us when we are stopped and will howl and them until they notice her.

She loves children when she hears one crying she will hunt them down and stand up and turn circles until they laugh. She sits in her stroller when we go places everyone knows her by name.

She loves to help me dig in the garden I dig a hole then she will dig one next to mine. When she doesn't get to go bye bye she will go and knock all my pillows off my bed. She doesn't lick but she loves to snuggle with her head against your neck.

Her favorite snack is animal crackers and will roll over and dance around for one. My husband gives her a pinch of a fig newton every day she runs around circles around him until she gets one. She sleeps with us between us she has to be touching both of us.

She loves Halloween she dresses up and greets all the kids. She loves to dress up she prisses around when she has something pretty on, she will wag her whole bottom when she wears her TuTu so she can watch it. She will watch herself in the mirror.

She plays with her toys (her babies) she will throw them up in the air and throws them across the floor. She doesn't want you to play with them. She will hide them, if you tell her to go get her baby she will get and play with it and then hide it again. Sometimes she will just stare at you for the longest time for some reason only she knows.

She sits out by the pool and she wears her life jacket and floats around the pool with me. If there is a mouse in the house or outside she will find it, and bring it to with pride. When I'm working she will curl up on my desk and nap until I'm done.

We have classic cars and she gets so excited when she gets to ride in them. She doesn't like to hang her head out the window I guess she doesn't like the wind blowing in her face.

She truly is our best friend. I have some health issues I suffer with debilitating pain and seems to know when I feel really bad and she never leaves me alone for a minute. It really helps me cope. She truly is part of our family my kids and grand kids adore her.

Radley is a dog that we kept for our mascot at our dog rescue, Dachshund Rescue NW. He came into our dog rescue wormy, badly abused and hungry. Now he is happy, healthy and just a great dog with a few years of work so he trusted people. Today, Rad is my official happy greeter for about 120+ dogs we retrain and rehome here.

Rad likes going to events and helping folks see that adopted dogs make great pets even with his rough start in life. And he is so patient to wear silly outfits but it helps us advertise our homeless dogs.

Radley has a big following on our Facebook page for Dachshund Rescue NW near Spokane, WA. We have now placed 1262 homeless wieners since 1991 and many in the couple of years is because Radley helped us retrain those scared rescues into great family pets.

Plus I am a photographer so nice when he poses for me and does work for treats!

Maizie thought water was a living thing, she would bark at it, chase it...At the beach she would dig a hole, let it fill with water and bark it as the water flowed. She would dig furiously, and bite the water, using her tongue often to make sure it was safe.

Parker loves to go shopping at Lowe's & rides in the cart standing up looking for people to notice him & pet him. He was 5-1/2 yrs old when I rescued him at The Humane Society & I was his 3rd owner. He was scared, sad & not socialized, but after about 4-5 months of walking him in the neighborhood he started friending just about everyone. He loves to chase squirrels, ducks & rabbits.
